Frequently Asked Questions

How do I prepare for a wax?

Come with about ¼ inch of hair growth, or roughly 2–3 weeks after shaving. Exfoliate and moisturize 24 hours before your appointment. Arrive with clean, dry skin and no lotions, oils, or creams on the area being waxed. Avoid caffeine before your appointment, as it can make you more alert to pain. If needed, you can take ibuprofen about 30 minutes before your appointment to help with discomfort. Avoid tanning and excessive sun exposure beforehand, and wear something comfortable and loose to your appointment.

Is waxing for me?

Waxing is for anyone! there’s no “type” of person who belongs on my wax table. ALL are welcome here. The only exception is certain medications and skincare products that can make waxing unsafe. For facial waxing, please avoid waxing while using Accutane/isotretinoin, retinoids, tretinoin, as these can increase skin sensitivity and the risk of lifting or irritation. When in doubt, just ask!

How often should I get waxed?

For the best results, clients come in about every 4 weeks. Staying on a consistent schedule helps your hair growth get into a rhythm and keeps your appointments easier and more predictable.

What should I do after my wax?

Aftercare is just as important as the wax itself! For the first 24 hours, avoid hot showers, baths, saunas, intense workouts, swimming, tanning, and anything that creates a lot of heat or friction on the area. Once your skin has calmed down, consistent exfoliation and hydration are key to helping prevent ingrowns and best restults. And don’t forget to rebook your next wax, staying on a consistent schedule is one of the best ways to keep your results going.
